Having Trouble Getting The Liner Off Double Sided Tape? Here’s The Trick

Cloth double sided tape has a very aggressive adhesive. The most common use for this product is to install carpet, so it needs to be really sticky.

Unfortunately, that stickiness can mean that it is difficult to remove the vinyl liner.

Here’s how we do it.

Instead of cutting the tape with a sharp tool like a knife or scissors, tear the tape instead. The rough edge created by the tear will cause the liner to separate from the tape so that you can start peeling it with your fingernail.
