Put Down That Phone!

This post has nothing to do with tape.

Still, we deal with trade show tips here, and sometimes you just need to get something off your chest.

I am talking about trade show reps that sit in their booths, eyes glued to their phones. Total waste of manpower and all the expense involved in displaying at a trade show!

I don’t go to many trade shows, but when I do I am always amazed at how many booths are manned by supposed salespeople and experts who are glued to their phones, even as attendees come to their booths, often with questions that never get answered.

If you are staffing a booth for your company, of course you want your best people, but if those people are “phone addicted”, leave them at home and send someone who understands that there is nothing more powerful than eye contact and a genuine smile.
